This front-opening haori jacket with a single button is inspired by the actual armor, Tatewaku Mon Odoshi Nimaido Gusoku, from the Edo period. The armor belonged to the Ikeda family, known for their lineage as the lords of Himeji Castle. It is a rare example of female armor that has survived to this day. Its elegant and refined design still exudes a sense of nobility and strength. To bring the beauty of the Tatewaku Mon pattern, the most striking feature of this armor, into modern everyday wear, the design was simplified as much as possible. However, to emphasize the three-dimensional texture of the original armor, the pattern is expressed through fabric switching, creating an organic, handcrafted appearance.
